In article <3ln7pv$7m0@news.csus.edu>, emerson@sfsu.edu says...

[a lot of stuff with no obhack]

Yipes -- I'm breaking the rules. Apologies all around.

ObHackForLastTime: Wiring a twisted-pair Ethernet cable for use between
two computers without a hub, without the knowledge of which pairs go
where. This shows more stubborn persistance than cleverness, but I
certainly FELT like a master hacker when it finally worked. The worst
part was getting rid of the 30 or 40 one-inch pieces cut off the end from
each failed attempt.

ObCompoundedInterestForMissedObHackHack: Working out how to somewhat
successfully forge posts with WinVN. Not much of a hack, but I don't owe
THAT much interest, since I caught the missed ObHack myself.

ObHackInProgressForThisTime: Creating a database of short, unique,
device-specific MIDI sysex requests and replies for use in automatically
identifying MIDI devices attached to a computer.
