ObHack: Linux kernel was recompiled - no sweat - with sound support. But, I have a SB 2.0 at $220, and a GUS at $240 - and Linux decided to make the SB /dev/audio and /dev/dsp. Well, I am too lazy to remake all of the entries in /dev, so I just take the install script from the sound driver README and flip the /dev/audio1 and /dev/dsp1 entries to /dev/audio and /dev/dsp, and vice versa. Voila! I don't even have to reboot - everything works. Snazzy! And I know next to zilcho Linux!
