C-evo-1.2-samiam-2022.7z: This is the current version C-evo 1.2 I play. This uses fewer sounds than the full version and has some black and white instead of color graphics to minimize its size. It also includes some maps and another random map generator. As one example of how I kept the size down, I created a single generic battle sound on my 2600 which is part of this package.

C-evo-samiam-2021-full.7z: This is the previous “house rules” version of C-evo 1.2 that I play. (map_gen added; max year increased to 7000; different map sizes; ability to hide fog of war; no large tileset—it’s not needed in Windows 10 which supports enlarging legacy apps like C-evo) All source code is included in this release of the code.

C-evo-samiam-2021.(7z|zip): This is an aggressively size optimized version of the current “house rules” version of C-Evo that I play.

c-evo-mapgen-2021-05-21.zip: This is my update to Ulrich Krueger’s random map generator for C-evo. This version has a number of updates; most notably, it no longer crashes and/or refuses to run come January of 2038.

1.2: Files related to C-evo 1.2 (source code of my changes; c-evo-1.2-samiam spread across two floppy-disc sized images, Steffen Gerlach’s “stock” release of C-evo 1.2, etc.)

Caulixtla: A conversion of a single large continent of a map generated with Cephalo's Civilization 4 "Perfect World" map script. Includes a map script which randomly changes some aspects of the map.

C-evo-HOWTO.html: A 6000-word introduction to C-evo for someone who has never played a Civilization game before.

old: Older files. My final 2013 version of C-evo 1.1.1; source code for C-evo 1.1.1; etc.

screenshot.jpg: A screenshot of C-evo 1.2 (using my “house rules” edition; observe the vertical lines used as the “fog of war” shroud)
